Wow... That's a 68 or 69, so best case it has sat there since new, which would be 57 years. Can a tree trunk grow that big around in 57 years?

Driver's door hinges are probably rusted solid thanks to that dryer vent.

Looks like something Derek Bieri would take a run at ... if it wasn't an ACVW. Laughing

Hah.... I was thinking of him when I dragged it home. Hinges definitely required some soaking and a bit of heat cycling before I tried to open the door.

https://imgur.com/a/lives-KoHvHxv

Only took about 20 minutes to get it running, though. That surprised me as it's been parked since the early 80s. However, I have not tried to move it under its own power, the driver's seat is held in by carpet.

He did an ACVW recently. And he’s ventured into the land of maple syrup and Timmy Ho’s before so yeah I can see it.

Does this tree make my ass look fat?

The tree is asking, "Does this Beetle make my trunk look fat?"

Just watched him pull a ratty 56 single cab out of its three decade resting place.

Does anyone else follow "5150mxvw" on YouTube? He rescues old ACVWs and gets them running. He's been trying to dig out this 15 window bus for a while, slowly making progress.
