Mine is a '72 and it Does tell the difference.
and depending on the year of the T4 auto, you can ignore the extra switch on it. _________________ Tom

SB and FB T4s had different final drive ratios. The SB was like 3.94, the FB 3.73ish with the T3 3.65.
OK. pull them SWOGW out and prove me wrong |
My 71 SWOGW just says that the T-4 was 3.91 and the T-3 was 3.67. Doesnt say any difference between the SB and the FB T-4.
Unless you are thinking of the T-4 manual trans, and this book doesnt show it.
And my Transmission shop manual is only volume 1. I need Volume 2 which covers the differential. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey

It will bolt in, but the differential ratio in the T-4 is lower. Your T-3 engine will have to turn higher RPMs for the same speed as it does with the T-3 automatic.
If you use your differential, you will be OK. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey
