Back in the early nineties I had a rear mounted ski rack for my vert, which I used on a skiing trip to Austria. I'll see if I can dig out a photo of it in use. |

I've been meaning to post photos of my Pedro's Racks rack for my Ghia, which I got a couple of months ago. I needed a functional rack (was using a Yakima) and Pedro custom designed mine to be able to accept standard rack attachments. Here's a shot from today with my road bike...
Note the beefier cross bars and hold down clamps at all four corners...
Very functional and much classier than the Yakima. I'm very pleased. |

Vintage speed rack is nice. I don't have a rack but if I did I think I would opt for Pedro's Rack. Functional but not as top heavy as the original...

Hi Gang,
I put a rack from Custom Auto Racks on my 69' a few months ago. I'm finally getting around posting some photos. I think the rack looks great!
Thanks,

Roof rack is not my kind of Ghia accessory but if I ever change my mind Vintage speed roofrack will be my choise. Slick and "Ghia design compatible".

Seems like half the pictures show the roof rack mounted with the more curved end facing forward, and the other half with it facing to the rear.
Which is the "correct" orientation?
I'm guessing curved end forward, but that's not based on any knowledge or expertise whatsoever (as is most everything that I say ). |

Maybe one of these street rod trailers with paint and wheels to match your car

The square utility trailers, definitely! But you can haul a lot more weight with a trailer, which is why I'm still trying to come up with a shape that compliments the Ghia. |

I think the roof rack belongs on a bug not a Ghia. Takes away from the shape of the the car. The rear luggage rack I think is a nice touch. I wouldn't do it on either the roof or the luggage.
But every now and then you see one that it looks good on a Ghia. I have a roof rack on my 65 bug and I get more comments on it than the car LOL. |
