Few months ago I found a Nikko Hurricane on German classifieds for cheap.
It runs and drives, but not on full power.
I have to clean every mechanical part just to be sure, before some major work like electro motor change.
It looks cool, has 4WD and is a serious toy, not a true hobby grade RC toy. _________________ 1970 VW 1300 Bug |

I've posted these elsewhere, but I've been playing with the Tamiya VWs lately. I 3D printed a Bay Window, and most recently put a Kamtec Vanagon Body on a Tamiya Lunchbox.

My 1970 and 1971 VWs are radio controlled. That battery from Amazon was around $50 just a couple of months ago. This is my original body from '82. Probably has 10 layers of paint on it. I busted the front fender so I trimmed them all.

Thanks for that.
Photo was just a beauty shot from when I first built the car years ago. I put the bumper on to run it and it's definitely a little "scorched" up now!
I bought a second body kit so I have spares of all the little goodies. One day I'll build a "show" body and keep the other for the runner.
I had to build my own hump pack but the soldering on the top cell was a bit janky and the thing eventually died. _________________ 89 Syncro GL Westfalia 2.1 WBX/WBXaustSS

Nice!
Any thoughts on where I can get a NiMH battery pack that will fit inside my 2012 Scorcher? I don't want to go LiPo.

Yep they are an absolute blast! I don't run mine too much anymore, but used to run them at an indoor track in Okinawa "RC Paradise".
The left is the Tamiya '67 bug, center Sand Scorcher and right one is a Cox Buggy with a Tamiya frog chassis.

^Doooo it, you won't regret it! When I was a teenager I helped my dad with restoring our old house (built in 1882). For a long while there we had tons of sheetrock in our basement so I decided to take 6 pieces, and tape/mud them into a smooth surface. I then used pvc for the walls of the track, and hot glued them in place. I can't count how many hours my buddies and I spent racing our Kyosho Mini Z's around that track. We even began to make a racing groove from driving so much. DO IT! _________________ - Marc M.

lots of fun.
My wife is getting me the same one for fathers day.
I hope to clear some space in the basement and make a track. _________________ 1987 Westy Auto Bostig 2.0 Ztec |

The mini RS4 was the car to have when it came out. It put up against BRP's, Kyosho Mini Z's, when it came to smaller-than-12th scale cars it was the hottest ticket. That little car rocked the r/c world... not quite like the T-Maxx, but it rocked it. Shit, they still rock! _________________ - Marc M.
