Howzit Glen?
Haven't made an avatar because the photos were too big. Found a program online called FastStone and reduced the size and added it to my profile. Maybe my camper will be in the next edition to your Avatart.
Thanks for you work.

As far as resizing your avatar ... or I could just do it for you if you send me a picture.
The Avatart has been fun to make and I'm glad everyone is enjoying it. Cheers, Glen |
Aloha Glen
I saw a post somewhere on resizing a photo, but can't locate it now. I'd like to use one of these two photos for an avatar, but they're too big.
Hope you have time to resize and to add more to your Avatart. I'd like to see some well known contributors in there that don't have a VW in their avatar, such as busdaddy, randy in maine, wild things, and others. These are the people that supply the knowledge and experience that keep our campers on the road.

Hey theizzardking,
Isn't that the cafe from 'Northern Exposure'? Its like near seatle right?
TH |
yeah that would be in rosyln,wa about 1.5 hours east of seattle on i-90 near cle-elum and ellensburg, if you get out that way you should go on up to salmon la sac, amazing landscape! and about 15 minutes up the road from the cafe. _________________ "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch.

Updated version. I forgot the grill because it was a splitty and just didn't notice it at first. So I went back to my drawing and modified it. Here I hope is the final version...
I hope you guys like it.

Well, I did it!
I took the OG Turtle Bus Pic...
And Rob Weidman's Pic from his photobucket account...
And I used paint and alot of determination...
I think it came out pretty nice. I matched the color best I could to OG VW colors with the custom color option in paint. It took awhile but, I am satisfied with the results. And now I have a Turtle Bay Bus pic and a new avatar.
I would like to thank mackmix for finding RobWeidman. I would like to thank RobWeidman for sharing his photos of his sweet 71 campmobile. I would like to thank the unknown to me creator of the OG Turtle Bus Pic that has been so dear to my heart all these years. Thanks fellas I couldn't have done it without your help.
You might notice I made it a later bay. I was having trouble putting in the front turn signals down low because of the curve of the Turtles neck so, I opted for the late look.

Hey mackmix... I PMed you back I got it and PMed Rob. He only has five pics and his avatar isn't one of them. If I can get an OG pic it will be easier to play with in paint. The avatar goes all fuzzy when I blow it up. Thanks for finding him for me. I hope he has that or other pics at that angle. Its almost perfectly aligned to the angle of the turtlebus pic. I think I can make it work.

Hey Tree Hugger-Can't tell much from the little pic but it looks like Polly's old '70. It doesn't have the front spare but is that a mount shown in the little pic? If it is the same one we would sure like to know. We've searched around for it quite a bit. You know how mom's are. When the kid moves out the Momma want's to know how he is doing. If it is the same one there are more pics in my gallery. |
I don't think its the same one. Thats a VW emblem. Unless he removed the mount and fixed and covered the repair with the emblem. I will ask him if he ever answers my PM. Here is the only good pic of it in the 5 he has in gallery. Its a sweet ride. Its a 71 campmobile. Pollys looked sweet too. Good Luck in finding it. Don't you remember who bought it? If you do you could do a search on the white pages for their number and call em up. Do you have any with the tire off. I could probaly copy a VW emblem somewhere and paste it if again I can find the right angle.
