Your 181 group archivist has been hard at work this rainy winter evening scanning new issues for you to enjoy at your leisure. Of particular note is the juicy N. E. Thing September 1999 double issue with some color pages! WOW what else could your nostalgic bones ask for.
ENJOY and spread the word!
VW Thing and Registry Archives on this page. We have a link on our website http://vwthingregistry.com/ or you can click here: https://goo.gl/AEyg57

Now that I have way more material to work with I did a reorg of the page. Hopefully it will be more clear and folks can find item easier. We also added a few new items. The tables will have magazine and dates in a more orderly fashion. I filled it the dates on many that I have and when they get scanned the dates will light up with a hyperlink for all to enjoy. If you have items that can fill in the blanks, please let me know so all can enjoy. Thanks for all your great assistance in this effort.

Looks like I have more archiving work to do. Thanks King Wiemann for filling Things out in the 181 Archive. Hope to see you at the grand event in June. Kubel Treffen West 2017! When we hit a point where most the work is done I will send you and Eric Goodman a USB drive with all data.

Hello All, I have updated the archive page with new data. I seem to be missing the later issues when Philip Johnson took over as editor after Dave Campbell. Basically anything after 2007. If you have those pdf files, please email me so I can archive them for the new Thing Registry.

Thanks

I believe you should receive an email sometime shortly after we get the entire list together. Maybe even this month perhaps. Eric has been hard at work on it.
I on the other hand have been hard at work on the official Fezz we will all be wearing at our first official meeting during Kubel Treffen West 2017 in June.

Jeff and I are working to get all the old newsletters scanned for everyone to enjoy! We will have a link on our website to the archives. We have most of the newsletters from the 1990's and 2000's for the Thing (Type 181) Registry's, the 181 Magazine and the VW Thing Association. David Campbell, Bob Miller, Mike Crisp and Rich Smith did an amazing job with all these organizations... Now we want to continue the VW Thing (Type 181) Registry for many more years to come. If you have any info or old Registry history to share, let us know.

The registry list is new. I don't have all the information from the old registry... Sorry. Please go to out web-site and register your Thing. You can email me from the web-site and I can check and see if I have your VIN in the system. Thanks, Eric

Is there a way to search your database for my VIN? I'd like to find the PPO who restored my Thing. Thanks! _________________ Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

once scanned let us know and I'd be more then happy to buy a CD-Rom with the PDFs or such.
of course an internet available source wouldn't be bad either.
but Scans on CD would suffice for me.

Sharing this stuff for free is why I am translating the German Bundeswehr Thing manual. It's 112 pages and I am through about 30, in my spare time.
I hate it when hobbyists generously scan and donate documents and other people copy them for sale on Ebay.
I would ban those sellers from this forum!
