very cool info guys! this why the samba and networking is so neat,squashing the myths,i love the auwarter and i think it would be a shame if the badge and m-code plate werent reunited with this awesome coachbuilt _________________ Have a great day! |

i would've taken the whole bus when i first saw it in 1978 but the swiss airforce wouldn't lend me a big helicopter to lift it out.
at least the identity is definite, but i'm sure there will be hundreds of people who'll still argue that it's a beutler. |

I confirm that isn't a Beutler but a Ernst Auwärter.
When I remove the plexiglas from the roof long time ago (that I still have yet), I took also the M-Code plate (so I've the VIN [then I've also the papers of the bus]) and finally an original Ernst Auwärter badge witch was on the engine decklid.

yes, a german bought it for about $4500.
it's actually an auwarter although everyone calls it a beutler.  |
