Sure?

Looks a bit odd.

It's the original logo so it matched the shape of the nose real nice
but there's just a few mm between them...
I'm as sure as I can be without seeing it. The emblem shouldn't be tight against the body. I take a pic of mine tonight so you can compare with yours. Smile

Question,

If I install the logo with the rubber rings (wolfburgwest) on the studs
the logo stick out about 3 to 4 mm from the nose.
Is that correct?
Isn't it supposed to be closer to the nosepanel?

Thanks

I had my orig. re-chromed, and I threaded the studs and used rubber washers (ace) and locknuts to mount it. I just don't want some lowlife jackass thief to help himself to my emblem, while f'n up my bus. Wink

This sounds like the way I'm going to do it. Would you be able to tell me what size die worked on the studs to thread them so I dont break any off?

Thanks

When I took mine off to repaint it someone had drilled the studs and inserted small cotter pins through the holes. You were not going to pull that puppy off.

Yeah. Those clips will NOT prevent theft. I've lost two. Now I cut mine out of magnetic vinyl. Nobody steals those. And I have fun with them.

I think it was Ronnie from bustoration that gave the following tip: He said to put it on with just clear silicon on each post. That way, if someone wants to pull it off, at least they won't screw up the metal of the nose of your bus too badly.

I'm putting my front emblem on after being off for a long time so am unsure if the little rubber o-rings go on the posts first or do you put them on from the inside. I put them on the emblem first but then when I put the emblem on the nose it seems to stick out a little from the body and I wasent sure if that was correct.

Thanks

Thanks for the pics Everett. I got the seals from Lowes tonight and they worked great, 3/16"ID x 1/2"OD x 1/16" thick. Can't beat OG paint!

Example from my local Ace hardware (same size):

Thanks All!! I went to my local ACE hardware and got the speed nuts!
I plan on painting my bus soon, then I will install the painted emblem.
The after market chrome emblem gets rusty pretty quick.
