The sound is a good bit deeper, and the old chirp or tweet is now gone but the engine came alive on the top end just at about the shift points. My motor was smooth before adding them but now it's still wanting to pull and accelerate up on top. I'll post pictures as soon as I have a moment to load them. Thanks everyone. |

TDE claims 0,5dB higher sound (@ 3000rpms) than original, but it is another sound. _________________ I got a historic car, every scratch got a history...

Here is my stock 30/36hp engine with TDE's on full trottle on autobahn some years ago.
Measured 120kmh with the GPS later, not so fast on the speedometer.

Here's another video on IG of taking off in the car with the TDE pipes, with the phone at ground level behind the car.

It's louder than I thought it would be from that perspective, but not bad at all.
You can read my comments on the post on IG, but I would say the tips made a good improvement in drivability. It revs much more freely on top now, which makes keeping up in traffic and maintaining speed a bit easier. I'd say I picked up maybe 3-4 hp? Down low, it seems to have maybe lost a little torque, which isn't surprising when uncorking the exhaust. But I'm feeling like it's a worthwhile trade. Keep in mind my 36 horse has the WW Okrasa kit on it, so it may have benefited more from opening up the exhaust than a completely stock 36 or maybe even 40 horse. _________________ Vintage Classic Specialist, Orange, CA

I installed my TDE pipes today. You can see videos here on IG including before and after.

I haven't driven it yet, but after I do I'll post my impressions. I can tell you though, they really arent much louder, i measured the sound levels at idle and the TDEs were only like 1 db higher. The chirping, tweeting, fweem... what ever you want to call it, is gone. In its place is a much deeper, sportier sound. I like the fweem though, so if I don't feel a noticeable performance difference I may switch back. We'll see. More to come. _________________ Vintage Classic Specialist, Orange, CA

I plan to install mine this weekend. I'll record some video/sound with the stock tips and the TDEs. I'll post some "butt dyno" impressions too. _________________ Vintage Classic Specialist, Orange, CA

| The engine is blowing oil from the oil filer vent tube up into the air filter. I have listed the problem on another post in the vintage speed forum. Thanks for taking the time to reach out. Please read the other post and see what you think. |

Blowing oil from where, just for curiousity's sake?
My pipes showed up yesterday- might even have a motor to hang them on in a couple of months or so. _________________ Aloha,

| My TDE tips are now on the way but the motor in my car decided it wanted to come out and see daylight. Had to teardown the engine this week for blowing oil problem. |

I went ahead and ordered a set- hope to have them in a week or so.
Steven- it'll be interesting to see the comparison photos you're speaking of and your thoughts on how the tips compare. _________________ Aloha,

| Good deal. I did notice yesterday that I had two sets of chrome tips and both of those had different inside diameters. Some of the old stock pipes must have been made with performance in mind. When the new TDE pipes arrive I'll take a photo of all three sets for comparison. |
