Winterjam was better when it was where it was "Originally" thought of and started...Charlies lot. It didnt cost anything, food was under five bucks, nice free swap meet, it was a "Kid" friendly family event, music that wasnt blaring so loud that you couldnt even think, and the cruise through the loop was awesome.
I realize someone wanted to make it bigger and better, but at what cost did it really cost? Joe, a.k.a. "VUJADE" I ask you was it really worth it? Just seemes kinda sad that what Charlie started back then is now a complete embarrassment.
Oh well, looks like the toilet water is spinning in the bowl and those days are almost gone.

It seems like this show gets more talked about after the show! Before the event took place it hardly had any pages on this thread! The new folks surely made a name for themselves even though I don't think it was a very good one at all! I was there with my my buddy chip fuchs and we both feel like we got ripped! We took the family to another show on saturday and had a ball as we are both kinda poor we just went by ourselves to this show on sunday as we loved the previous winterjams! Only to be very dissappointed to see a killer show go down the crapper! The only positive thing me and chip could come across is that we went by ourselves and lost only 30 bucks instead of a lot more! After we left early we hooked up with a lot of the aircooled community in Daytona and found out that there was a bigger turnout all over the city and beaches then @ the show!I guess that means something!!! Just saying what I saw and witnessed!

They know as well as I do that there is No NDBS with out WinterJam. They don’t have what it takes to make a weekend show on there own; they didn’t when Joe owned it and they still don’t now. I'm not opposed to them heaving there own show I just don't want to deal with all the bull SH*^ bad talk and cyber bulling. I do have to say I think it's brilliant on there part to attach them selves to a show that puts out as much as we do for marketing and working off of our crowds and money we spend. So while I don’t respect the way they did it, it certainly was the best way for them to try and make a name for them selves.

in the opinion of someone who knows a lot of VW people and does not own a bus.
This statement is like driving a stake into your own heart.
not very smart....

I've skipped this post for a few days now, seems to be getting out of control. The end all be all to the entire thing is NDBS kicked ass and winterjam has done irreparable damage to itself and will never recover from it. I think that Joes was very smart in "selling off the show " when he did becase it was on its last leg with the bad deals and endless commitment fails to vendors and sponsors along with his bad business within the vw community. He also must talk a good game to keep his job and further ruin someone elses investment just by being assosiated. I think NDBS has a good thing going here and should in no way assosiate itself with winterjam.

Scott, Your claiming were being negative toward you. Look back and you'll see most negativity comes from your patrons. In fact we have promoted the show and if anything brought you more people to Daytona. Also your claiming that we have no experience. I have been doing car shows since 97, like Volksblast, WinterJam(the good years) and many other VW events and they were all successful. I also organize corporate events for NASCAR, Home Depot and Lowe's. Fact is your show was laid out by us in the beginning. Your welcome! I would venture to say your the least experienced here. Also you can call me anytime and talk, I am not opposed to that at all. PM me and I will give you my number. Joe has had it all along and I have never received a call from either of you. You have not reached out to us, if you did through whom and how did you do it? I will say this, there will be a No Dough without WinterJam and as far as marketing goes you guys spent all that money on advertising to have a smaller turnout than the pervious years? Really? Coke had great marketing, and new Coke still sucked! That's marketing 101! I told you months ago you bought a bag of shit, I think now you realize what I was talking about. The negativity was there before you came on board, You just weren't informed properly. Let me know what you want to do either way were still moving forward.......Bill Cool

Bill,
send me an email at and we can swap numbers. I agree about new coke old coke however our lower numbers were exspected from changing our formula from no pay to pay. numbers will grow over time the main thing is that at this point the show is sustanable were the old modle of sponsors paying for everything just cant hold up in this economy. When we meet I would love to talk more about this.

I think I have been very kind in my statements on this forum. Like I stated before, I had a good time at winterjam. We had a little problem at the end of the show with a no so friendly security guard. But what do you say, he is doing what he is told. I have only threw stones about the shitty back hand comments about our sponsors. Sorry, but they are also my friends, and I will back them til the end!

I m not the one in charge of ndbs. We are a group and we would have to talk it over as a group! Secondly, We don't know if the Vw community is going to except winterjam after this year. It looks like you guys burned a lot of bridges , and pissed off a lot car owner. Without them, you have no show.
And as far as us not being able to pull off a complete weekend. I wouldn't bet againist us. Have a nice day!

PS sorry if I have made you feel as if we have been bullying you around. I stand up for what I believe in, and this whole thing has nothing to do with you as a person.

A couple people have mentioned the security. I recognize that they need better instructions for next year. The one way traffic thing was designed to make things safer and show cars were allowed to circle the properties. I am working with staff for next year to make sure they understand what and why we are doing things so they can explain in a friendly way what’s going on and not be overly aggressive. For a first year staff they did pretty good but there are large improvements that need to be made.

As far as burring bridges, I’m sorry you feel that way. I have received some complaints but for the most part very positive responses and suggestions for making things better. Most of the sponsors gave verbal commitments on next year with several stepping up to do more. I also received very positive responses from club members who came down to test the waters so we are expecting more cars next year. Things are looking very good for WinterJam 2012.

First I don’t think you’re a prick for not sponsoring or even help starting the other show. Joe did turn the money in, the swap is for used parts vendors only new parts we charge for, so you paid the same vendor fee everyone else did that is a new parts vendor. I did go over there a couple times but I didn’t get to speak with you. I did get to talk to some other folks who were very nice but we can talk about that later.
