Spin the drivers seat around and you will see the relay. The black/red wire is removed from the relay, then a short (5-6") ground wire with a #10 ring terminal on one end and a 1/4" female disconnect terminal on the other goes from the empty terminal on the relay (the one you just pulled the wire off) to the machine screw that mounts the relay to ground it to the chassis.
Use a cable tie or some tape to keep the connector you removed from the relay from bouncing around and you are all set.

where is the coil ground wire on the aux relay  hell where is the aux relay?  is it under the part of the seat you can't get at |

The aux bat relay is conflicting with the starting relay. It is a simple issue to fix. You just need to move the coil ground wire of the aux relay. Stock that relay coil ground is connected to the starter circuit. You need to ground the relay coil directly to chassis earth instead.

Just to avoid confusion, if you are using a Bosch WR-1 kit, the relay will have 5 terminals (SPDT) instead of 4 (SPST) like the OldVolksHome .pdf shows. The middle terminal on the Bosch 0 332 019 150 relay is terminal 87, which should connect to the black wire that goes to the male tab (terminal 50) on the starter solenoid.
From your description it sounds like the connections are correct, but the hard start relay is having problems interfacing with another system.

Do you have a full Westfalia or a weekender with a factory auxiliary battery? If so you will need to do a modification to the relay under the drivers seat. Let me know and I will walk you thru it.

installed it correctly? blue to red blk / yellow to body ground /black to terminal 50/red to terminal 30 started ok then horrific noise from starter ? starter still engaged? shut it down started it again no noise till I trottled up noise again  any ideas would be helpful |
