pOrk's understands! actually, with everything i have on my bike, its up to about 3500. my dads bike, also a Titus is of titanium, cost $6k! and its 20 years old! holly hell.
but back to my question real quick is there a roof rack for a 66 bug that will fit 2.35 tires or that something i'll have to custom make? _________________ "In case I don't see you, good afternoon , good evening, and goodnight."

sorry for the double post. but, your $800 bike is a 1/4 the price of my mountain bike. i wouldnt sweat it too much. |
sounds more like your bragging about your bike than offering any advice.
3200 dollars is quite abit of money for any bike, I would love to see this bike if you dont mind posting a few pics. |
3200 dollars is not that much for a bike, ask any biker Hell my single speed rigid MTB was 1600.
I strap mine to my roof rack cause I'm no pussy, just sayin |

if you notice my first post above my "double" post i put up a picture of the same bike as mine and i explained what im looking for. im not here to just brag about my bike.
but ill tell you what it is. its a Titus ML1. Kinda a collectors bike now because the company Titus Titanium closed down because they went under due to the new owners pissing off their clients. you dont piss off clients who are paying $3k-$8K for a bike. _________________ "In case I don't see you, good afternoon , good evening, and goodnight."

That deckled rack looks like a normal rear deckled rack with a bike rack added to it then repainted the whole thing to blend in. I have a deckled rack that looks just like it minus the bike portion.... |

if it aint broke dont fix it. when i started working everything i made went into the bike and I got tired of cheap parts breaking. Now it is top quality so nothing breaks. if only I could learn to do the same with my bug. |

Here's what I use....
You can easily put 4 bikes up on the roof and strap them down in about 2 minutes. |

That sounds about right. I think there are multiple makes that will work. I just looked at the one on the chair here, and I'm wondering if it's tall enough to fit. It probably is (I just got it and haven't tried fitting it), but I doubt it would work with a rag top... _________________ Jason Hopper

Would it be a stupid idea to place it upside down on a roof rack and tie it down? |

There's a particular universal rack that fits on the roof of a beetle like any period roof rack did. I don't remember what it's called, but there's one sitting on a chair at my kitchen table... It's one of those rail-type systems where you can slide any number of things on it (including bike stuff). _________________ Jason Hopper

yea i have ben using a thule hatchback rack for a while now.
But ran into some trouble with it a couple weeks ago.
I guess I over loaded it with old schwinns and it fell off going down the road.
The weight had actually bent the decklid mounts down.
time to figure something else out. _________________ 1960 6 volt sedan- 1978 adventurewagen
