that's not going to happen because dealing with the stock height mafia gets old.
what's funny is even the split window beetle forum isn't fraught with all these anti lowering hate mongering purists...case in point:
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=551301
20yo kid saves one and lowers it. not a single negative comment in that thread.
i saved my 73' westy from getting scrapped, replace(ing) tons of rotted out metal on her, and getting her back on the road...but because i lowered the heck out of it suddenly that's not ok and i ruined it
when this forum is more open to lowering/modifying like other sections on samba then i'll gladly post up builds. but until then i'll sit on the sidelines and watch. |

This is a real build thread, not just a "I painted and put new tires on my bus" thread. In my past I have fabricated my own steering and suspensions, not to a bus though, but this thread is like the ones you see on builder sites and I like that. Bolting a lowering kit to a bus is cool, but building the bus yourself is way cooler and I am glad this thread stands alone and is not just part of the 10 million page lowering thread where something like this would be lost. I wish we had a lot more builds being individually discussed in this forum. _________________ 1971 Deluxe Sunroof Bay 1905 stroker, dual idf40's, 74mm Scat forged crank, engle 110 cam. This thing is Bad Ass.. Love it... I have a 77 that I'm painting solid Satin Black and want to lower and wanted to go with the Red stock wheels but the wife things Old Gold would look better with our Zookdesign.com look. |

Great job with all the fabrication. Beautiful work.
As far as all the discussion about ball joints. Check them once in while, if/when they get loose replace them before they come apart. SAME AS ANY OTHER CAR. |

Он написал, что многие на тебя будут выливать грязь за такие "издевательства" над благородным автобусом, но он лично считает что это прикольно, зачетно типа!, признает тебя короче, вот.

You are doing an exceptional job on your bus' suspension...keep up the good work and don't worry what the stock nazis think about it...they all have their own busses to worry about...not yours....I can't wait to see your bus completed....VW busses are unique unto their owners, and your bus really stands out among the so-so stockers....keep up the excellent work, and have a very happy new year ! |
