No worries bro... the final chapter has not be written yet, delayed most definitely, but not written. I really want this done if for nothing other than personal pride.
I did clean up the garage a bit yesterday (car has been buried under cases of sample products from my job) if nothing else that helped a bit with the motivation being able to actually see it, that with re-reading your threads and visiting the cutting-board again.
I'm hoping stuff comes together because now I have PLENTY of time! _________________ Don't harsh my mellow...

What he said ^^
Project hit a wall (not literally) due to a shift towards the vanagon and loss of job (wanted the vanagon road worthy for possible live-in-it situation)
With that said I am going to drag it out today and estimate what I need $ wise to at least get it running. I might take what little I have to get it running and see if I sell it or keep it (praying I keep it) problem will be when the house sells where will I store it... _________________ Don't harsh my mellow...

8 inch extender locates the steering box just behind the hood lip.
10 inch extender you must notch the hood... _________________ aka Ken {o\!/o}

Went out to the garage to do some spring cleaning and organize the front area to start again... shaved my self a knuckle flap on the sheet metal.
Part of what I sell is wound care... I have some homeostatic gauze, dressings and cohesive bandages. Washed out the wound and let it bleed (bleed it did) and made a soft splint... hurts like hell today, debating on seeing the doc... wound looks good all things considered.
EDIT- 6 stitches... glad I went |
Some of those little bandages that hold the wound together like stitches, pain killers from a previous injury that you saved in your medicine cabinet mixed with a beer or two and watch sports. All better zzzzzzz _________________ Schrodinger's cat walked into a bar and it didn't.

Pay and job cuts suck.... I fully understand all too well. Ive been fighting that myself..
Keep your eye on the prise, and only sell as a last resort.
If you were hurt I guessed I missed it here or there..
FYI electrical tape works way better than masking tape for injuires...
And tampons and pads really suck up a lot of blood...  _________________ aka Ken {o\!/o}

If I understand correctly, you were just severely injured in your shop? Bout lost a finger did you? When our first aid box is buried under tools and magazines, we just use paper towels and blue masking tape. May not be too clean but the infections teach us valuable lessons. |

You're telling me! I got hit with a massive pay cut (34%) as my company realigned itself, and they buried us with more work since we had fewer reps... the good news is I am close to switching companies and could be starting it by the end of the month for almost 2x the money! I was about to sell the panel to help with the finances... still might because I really really want to drive the VR now that weather is getting good, and I need to focus on one thing at a time.
Reading all the threads here and on the cutting board are making me antsy! I've been following your air cleaner choices, the stuff Vaughn posts, and any and all chops... the top will be lowered or removed with a carson top... just don't know which.

What are you doing... working on the Bus? |
LOL... nope!
Finally got the brake lines done... work has been fugly! (I am thankful to have the job!) Lots of travel etc... I am getting ready to work on the steering column and then I can work the alignment (I think I will have work adjusting the steering box alignment too)... slooooow progress but I am getting there.
Made a promise to myself, after the initial emptying of the cargo area, removing carpet and making it smell better... no work on the bus until VR is done! I have kept my word to myself! _________________ Don't harsh my mellow...

This calculator will help you decide...
http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/infoTireMath.dos
295's will be be fine, the 50's may be too short though. I'd guess it depends on the look your after.
I have 275/60/15's on my Dune Buggy (rear) with 10 inch fat slots.
My rears tires are 28 inches tall, and around 10.5 inches wide..

A good rake is hard to beat. We could have lowered ours another 7 inches but that would have leveled it against the ground. Keep up the progress. |
