based on the 1228 part number, those are sway-a-way, 26 9/16" long, 28mm bars

If I had to guess I would say Sway-A-Way, Back in the day they painted bars and axles white.

I have a broken rear right torsion bar from a used baja bug that I bought and I need to indentify what type of bars it has without having to disasemble the torsion now, since I need to order them for the US and wait until they get here to fix it.

The baja has been converted to IRS, 091 trans, 3x3 arms and 930 CVs, and long torsion housing; I said so since the torsion bars go out on the middle of the torsion covers.

I am pretty sure that they are aftermarket torsion bars on it, perhaps 28mm or 30mm, but I am not sure about the bars length and here is where I need some help to identify the bars and order the correct ones.

Here are a couple of pics of the broken piece of bar that went out of the housing. On the face it reads 1228 on top, 0996 on the bottom (date?) and the initial "R" which I am sure it stands for right side.

Thanks in advance for your help
