Its becasue this topic is in the wrong forum.. I tried to direct you, over to where WE dont mind modifications, and could really dive into it.
(Too many Stock Nazis, lurk in this forum)....
Many ways to get the extended front axle look.
If you want to keep a VW suspension, the easiest way is to bolt on an add on frame head extender. It keeps all the VW steering as is and you simply extend, the steering shaft.
Flipping the trailing arms to point forward is also an option. A total rework of the steering is required, using Vw parts and adapting along the way.
Then we have the whole NON VW suspesions.
The most popular, is the I beam straight axles, with transverse leaf springs. It gives the really old look most want...
and then we have some suspensions that builders create all on thier own...
Its pretty much a wide open interpretation and creation of what a builder invisions. _________________ aka Ken {o\!/o}

| I've seen people either turn the front beam around to extent it for the rat rod look or are they just changing the spindles maybe side to side to extent the front tires. How does the tie rods work in this change over. Any help is appreciated. |
