Hello, it has been a while since I was on the forum.
First of all, we spent a good portion of the spring and early summer stripping, doing bodywork, priming and painting my 1970 VW bus. Pictures and video clips of the restoration process are available at the bottom of my Instagram page.

Unfortunately, in July, I blew the cooling fan and had to pull out the engine to replace it. A good many hours spent on how to do it wrong, a few hours spent when we figured out how to do it right, especially, insertion of the engine back into the tranny bell housing.
Adding to the misery (or joy depending on your preference) the distributor's electronic ignition decided to kick out. I replaced the Bosch coil and the VW BAA 905 205C distributor with a Petronix Coil and Distributor. The bus engine is a 2007 VW BAA100013 Made in Mexico 1.6L. Long story short, when I replaced the Bosch/VW with the Petronix and I didn't need to use the 1311 wiring harness. The engine starts easily, idles smoothly and revs up, just great! Problem is, I have 2 wires left that I don't know what to do with.
Does anyone know what is the purpose of the GREEN and the BLACK wires?
The don't appear to go to ground and they don't appear to be a source of power. Please respond with comments.
