Excellent! I've made the trip from Arlington, VA to Miami and back 9 times over the last 5.5 years in my '73 Super, never a problem. I did have an issue w/my '74 last year. But ready to do it again in February!

Our local VW club participated in yesterdays Christmas parade in Manassas VA. Overcast and a nasty wet 39* standing around for 2 hours in the staging area but fun times were had by all. Check out the '59's Polizei Bug's sign from Checkpoint Charlie. The car has working sirens and lights, and also has the original dash police radio which has an old-school corded handset, although it's non-op. The '53 green Morris Mini is an honorary "VW-adjacent" member of the club. We figure the car's the right size, has nice curves, and is definitely cool enough to hang w/the 'Dubs!

I do hit the mains a lot on the street Very Happy

Idles are 65, mains 150 on F7 tubes with 200 airs right now. It does seem to run better cold which makes me think the mains are a tad big too. More tweaking, and since it's not a daily anymore, and stays in the garage, it'll be easier to do tuning. This was the longest I've driven it since getting it back on the road; I'll keep extending the drives just to make sure it's happy all around. Sunshine & 65 degrees on Friday was perfect for it though, that's for sure!

Since getting my '69 back on the road, I've been trying to take advantage of any nice day we have to pick my daughter up from high school. Friday we took a little cruise after I picked her up, and she really enjoyed it. Especially once we were back in town, stuck in traffic, and a VW fan was talking to us at every light!

The drive did show I need to do some main jet changes, it does seem to fall on it's face up around 55-60. Running 150 mains right now, but I think I'll drop to 145 and see how it does; I have some 155s as well to try. My weber book troubleshooting section has recommendations for either direction LOL. It's one or the other for sure!

I drove my 1971 Beetle Convertible yesterday, and then again today; topless of course !

We took our 2014 Yukon Denali to the shop to get its transmission, transfer case, and front and rear differentials serviced. Without a lift, and the different fluids/pumps required, too much for me. $331 fluids and materials, $255 labor, pretty much what I expected. We bought this 3 years ago with 76K miles and "in writing" that such had been changed just before we bought it, but now at 118K miles (some of that towing a horse), just makes sense to have that done. So we drove the VW over to pick it up.

I'd recently done oil change and front and rear brakes on it myself.

Took a drive to the marina to check on our boat. It was nice to have a dry day; rain is expected for the next several days.

Thank you! Car drove like a champ with zero issues other than storm rain and wind trying to blow me off the road here and there.
