At a weak point I happened to "score" a set of 16" repro centers..... I mean.. Pre-A's need 16" wheels dont they?
So I had to find some donorwheels for the wheelarches... Found a set of 6,5x16" VW Golf/Bora(=Jetta) wheels....
Had a shop narrow two to 5,5x16"
16" compared to 15"

Very nice project.
The center wheels fit to 16" without any adjusts? _________________ Dum

Great work! Especially love the way you incorporated the S.B. front struts (and the work to mount the wide 5 discs), your Outcast badge (really diggin' that!), the custom 16" wide 5 wheels, the steering wheel, custom gauge work, and .... (sorry, everything you're doing here is just so off the charts cool!). I'm a replica Speedster owner and appreciate all you've done with your coupe shell. We're all waiting (I'm sure rather impatiently! ) for the next update. Al _________________ On a lifelong mission to prove (much to my wife's dismay) that Immaturity is Forever!! |

First doorskin prefitted.. Yes, every part must be fitted on this scratchbuilt... Not exactly a go to the shop and buy the bolt-on average kit... Next time I'll glue the skin to the inner doorframe and hope that the door hinges are in correct position so the door turn free without scratching anywhere.....

One year gone by and not much have happened... Well, made new slightly taller frontstruts with softer springrate. Now it actually have a suspension at front too.. Dropped it back on wheels yesterday and hopefully will get more done to it in a near future...
Also got the final wheels setup worked out now..

Concidering to sell the project... Very limited time to work on any project from now on... |
tough decision. i got a ton done on my project in the first year but then it sat for a few years with little progress. sadly unless you got the project for nothing or are selling it for a ton of money you wont ever get enough out of the project to pay you for your time. you have so much into it. be a shame to give it up now. _________________ skill comes by the constant repetition of familiar feats, not by one over bold attempt at a feat for which the doer is yet poorly prepared |

What a pitty to hear. May be you give it a second thought. We all lack enough time, but you have come this far. Don't give up, may be give it a break and pick up the work when circumstances allow again....? _________________ '73 Beach Buggy
