I stubled on it by accident...and discovered no one i spoke to knew this, even my parts supplier. I wonder how many used 1300 pulleys they sold ended up mounted on 1600s...and how much does it rezlly affect temps?
But seeing as how VW rationalised production for max savings, if the y hadn't needed to design a new pulley, they wouldn't have. |

So I have just run into this, and have not sorted it out yet. I have the larger 7inch stock pulley on the bottom, and the Alternator has a normal looking Generator pulley on it. Both OE German. My Alternator Belt is too short to fit. I have the longer of the two belts with the 11mm wide section. I do have a smaller 6 3/4 OEM bottom pulley, am I supposed to have that small pulley when using an Alternator? I honestly have never used anything but a Generator ever, so this one has me baffled a little also. As for the 1300 smaller pulley, that I did not know either. _________________ TP in the Pack (I am a cyclist)

| 1300 pulley is slightly smaller in diameter than the 1600's. |
