Bought a front disc kit for my bus just before Christmas and had my daughter pick it up for me on her way to NorCal. Well my install was during their holiday and I get a call from one of their guys (Manny) who gives me his cell number in case I have a question or problem. Can’t get much better than that for service.
Thanks Manny and Russell @ Oldspeed |

Old Speed did a disk brake conversion on my 1963 Type 34. I could not be happier with the work they did. Russell and the entire team were very skilled and appeared to take pride in their work.
Using the early type 3 wheels is not possible with most disk brake kits since there is limited clearance. I believe most conversions are paired with after marked wheels to address this issue. The folks at Old Speed took the time to develop a custom solution that uses modern technology but allows me to retain my stock wheels.
I highly recommend this shop. |

After talking with a few people that were selling the same type of 944 front disc brake adapter kit , I went with Russ and couldn't have been happier. He was happy to answer any questions and gave the info needed to make my installation work. The product was top notch and the return shipping was super fast. |

Ordered a 4" narrowed beam completely assembled (including porsche 5x130 disc brake set-up) on Jan 16, 2015 from Russell at Old Speed. Received email from Russell Jan 23, 2015 to inform me that my beam had shipped and provided a tracking number for me as well. 1-1/2 WEEK TURN on a COMPLETELY ASSEMBLED BEAM!!!
Russell is a excellent communicator, always answers his phone, willing to provide answers to all my questions/concerns and builds great quality beams with exceptional turn time. His sales staff was also great to work with! I can't wait to install the beam on my 55 Oval
THX Old Speed and Russell!
I highly recommend Old Speed!! _________________ 2013 Jetta

I emailed Russell about an issue I was having, a little while later he called me with a solution, picked up my items at OCTO.
Very knowledgeable, easy to deal with, great product...can't ask for anything more. _________________ I own a copy of "The Car of the Century" by Garwood. This means I am authorized to act like a twat in thesamba forums. |

Old Speed and especially Russ was a nice treat to find. I was fortunate enough to be referred to them. Russ has spent a lot of time on the phone, email, PM.....with me to figure out some challenging issues. My car has been to his shop a few times and ALL was done prompt, as promised and with the utmost professionalism. I have a few more things that I need done to it so it's going back to see Russ shortly.
He is one of the good guys and under appreciated for his knowledge, experience and integrity. |
X100!! Russ....thank you for working with me, you know what I'm referring too.
I look forward to doing business with you in the very near future.

Like the people say...Russell is a nice guy and so are his crew. I bought disc brake brackets, spacers, IRS conversion axles, and other parts from him. Old Speed has always had the right advice for me. I've bought parts here and there from Old Speed over the years and there's a guy at the shop who still remembers who I am when I call. |

We all work hard for the money we earn and we are willing to spend it on our hobby. We just want to know we can call someone or take the car into someone we can trust and not be taken advantage of.
I have had my car into a few shops over the years and unfortunately was treated as a number, taken advantage of and the shop/owners only interested in my money.
Old Speed and especially Russ was a nice treat to find. I was fortunate enough to be referred to them. I stripped the splines on my 1969 bus rear drums and as it turns out only a 69-70 drum will fit... I could not find one.
Took the old one and the good one to Russ at Old speed and in a few days they were able to turn one off a older bus machine it and it works great.
To Russ and all the crew at Old Speed thanks again.

I agree with everyone else... without a doubt, Oldspeed is the place to go! I'm from Texas where VW's aren't too popular and a good mechanic is hard to find, but since moving to LA 2 years ago they are the only shop i'll take my 64 bus to.... its actually there right now!! |

Russ is awesome. Bought spindles link & pins and modified pitman arm. Also got narrowed tie-rods from him. Great service!!!!!!!!! Great under valued knowledge, very easy to deal with. I will call Russ to buy my disk brakes soon and will not have to second guess the process. |
