Tried to order one today and kept hitting a server error on their side (sigh...) I emailed them to let them know.

BTW I had to use Chrome as my browser - Safari wouldn't even let me put the order in the cart

Anyone contemplating buying a Birth Certificate:

I just ordered mine and they are having a 25% off sale. I believe the form said sale is through May 22nd, 2022.

Here are the steps I found that worked for me completing a PayPal based purchase.

Pre-Work
1. Have an email address you can use to receive your confirmation. (Have a one-time use password ready for this transaction.) (Minimum of different classes of characters in password is 3. Classes of characters: Lower Case, Upper Case, Digits, Special Characters.)
2. Have your VIN number ready, (engine number if you want to verify that option too.)
3. Have your Model ready (I used Karmann Ghia)
4. Verify your PayPal account is accessible as you will have to log into PayPal to complete the order.

Placing the order
If you have had problems with this before it would be best to clear you browsing history and cache as well as restart your computer to ensure you have clean and fresh working environment.
Open the website:
https://www.volkswagen-classic-parts.com/en_global/service/certificate-data-sheets.html
If this is your first visit to this website, you will have to accept the privacy settings (This company is located in Europe and fall under the European Community internet laws)
Next you may be presented with a country selection.
Select United States English
You will then be at the home page of volkswagen-classic-parts.com
In the top right corner of the header verify your country and language selection is showing.
(It should be an American flag icon with the letters EN to the right)
(IF there is a globe icon and the letter EN, click the down arrow and select United States English, your ordering will not validate for the US if the Flag icon and EN letters are not present.)
Scroll down until you see the certificate ordering options.
Select the option you want by clicking on the Order Now text.
Click on the To The Form button to move to the next step
Click the Legitimation box
Click you language preference box
Enter your VIN (no dashes)
Enter a Model Name (not sure how this validates)
Verify your Quantity
Click Add to Cart To Complete your order

Cart
Click the Shopping Basket Icon and then click Proceed to Checkout

Cart Shipping Review & Payments Confirmation
Email Address: Enter a valid email address (Step 1 Pre-work)
Password: Enter your one-time use password (Step 1 Pre-work)
Confirm Password: Verify your one-time use password
Name Prefix: (Select from available options)
First Name: (Enter you First name)
Last Name: (Enter you Last name)
Street/No. (Enter the mailing address where you will receive the certificate(s)
Zip/Postal Code: (Enter the Zip code for the address above)
Country (This should already be showing United States)
State/Province: (Select the state associated with the address entered above)
City: (Enter the name of the City associated with the address entered above)
Phone Number Enter a valid phone number
Double check all data entered and click the Next button

Review and Payments
Here I selected PayPal and accepted the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policies and selected Place Order

I do not have detailed instructions beyond this point as I did not annotate during my order more than shown above. After placing the order I was taken to another payment window which allowed me to go to PayPal. I logged into my PayPal account and selected my payment method for this transaction and approved it.
Hope this helps those who are having no success so far. Please message me any mistakes or corrections.

VW reused codes sometimes. The M355 option for 1959 probably had just MPH speedo, sealed beam, whitewalls, and ram protection. But by 67 this list has been expanded to include other things. On their system they probably only have the last version of the m355 spec and so included that or the people compiling the list did not know to look for the year appropriate version.

Of course, there are known mistakes as well. But this seems to me to be a case of using a later version of m355

Received the birth certificate for my ghia. It took 3 weeks. Looks like I have the original engine. Unfortunately it threw a rod many years ago. Does anyone know what A03 M-Package is?

I know in buses, seatbelts became an option in 1962 I believe. But 1959 definitely seems too early for them. Well at least the important parts of the certificate all seem correct. Smile

No they didn't. I don't think seat belts were even a option. Lap belts were the common add-on when they became mandated.

I got my birth certificate for my new Lowlight! It only took about 3 weeks.

She was built on July 15, 1959
Delivered to St Louis on July 22, 1959.
The engine is the original matching!

Interesting, and maybe a mistake, but some of the optional equipment seems more like later model options?

Hazard warning system?
Reverse lights?

I ordered Joan's "Birth Certificate" January 12th.
It showed up today!
Can't believe it only took two weeks. I expected the turnaround to be much longer.
I went for the "Deluxe" certificate. It's a very nice presentation
She was built December 6, 1966
Delivered USA January 12, 1967.
Because she was originally sold in Connecticut I'm fairly certain she was delivered at the Port of New York & distributed to the dealer through World Wide VW Corp.

Well, I went ahead and thought I would try to get a "Birth Certificate" again.
https://www.volkswagen-classic-parts.com/en_global/service/certificate-data-sheets.html
Success!
Went ahead and tried Paypal, it was seamless.
Got the bundle.
I had ordered a certificate probably 15 years ago for the coupe. I don't think they offered a bundle then. Not a huge deal since the coupe is very unoriginal. It will be a nice addition for the cabriolet.

Looking forward to details!

Did anyone not get their certificate with the switch-over. Mine was ordered for my Ghia on 2/2018 and it never arrived.

Could have been lost in the mail, but I think it may have been lost in the transition.

Happy day! My Birth Certificate showed up today from Germany just 4 weeks from ordering it.

Built June 19, 1969 and shipped to New York on June 22, 1969. Here is some photos of the packaging, very nice presentation.

One of my favorite things to find out as listed on page 2 special configuration is that my engine number is the original engine since the date of delivery. Ha, original engine, who would have known. Cool

Very nice! We have the exact same car (1969 Toga White Coupe with Black Interior). Now I need to get my Birth Certificate Ordered to confirm the engine...
