				| I just got an email from my stepson that the last T3 Vanagon/Caravelle built by VW of South Africa was totaled in an accident. It was on a car hauler with eight other VW of South Africa museum cars that were also totaled. What a shame. He sent photos of it but I can't attach them to this message. | |

Note how large the side windows are and how small the rear side engine vents are on the T3.

				| Ain't the first time a car carrier with old cars got whacked. Here is what happened to cars my brother restored (See towards bottom):

(BTW: Many of those cars were repaired. Can't tell because they are so good at fixing those bathtubs. Thankfully there are lots of repro sheetmetal parts you can buy for them.

If you look close at other African T3s you will notice the windows are bigger than what we have. So they changed the sheet metal some. Sad. That means (maybe) that some new panels may not fit the older vans. But, I do sort of recall they might, perhaps, have used glue in windows too. Which would make them appear bigger, but yet the sheet metal would remain the same. Got to check that some time.

				| Here's a rear end photo of the T3, this show's the deeper side windows and the raised engine vents, it also has steel rap around end caps on the bumpers instead of plastic and there's no sliding door channel on
the passenger side below the window, will try to post a photo of it
