My from roof rack (the whole section of white plastic roof over the front seats) freakin flew off somewhere south of Jackpot, NV yesterday. It looks like it's held on by those two black racks, which are only riveted and glued to the roof!! I can't believe the construction is so dodgy for that part.

has that ever happened to anyone, and is it possible to get a new one, it doesn't look like a simple repair, and it also seems like it should be bolted to the steel when I do.

I've never heard of this one before.

The rack is held on by four steel support brackets, which are each held on by two large pop rivets each. The luggage bars then bolt to the steel brackets, and sandwich the roof rack in place. There is also one sheet metal screw in the pan area at the front that screws into the body top.

These folks should have all of the parts you are missing:

I wonder if a previous owner tied something large to the luggage bars that somehow broke some the pop rivets loose. If you are concerned about it, I guess you could scare up some heavier blind nuts to use instead of replacing the pop rivets.

I got the part yesterday from winnebagoparts.com, thanks for the link. They were very helpful and made the part to order. Funny thing is that they used black plastic instead of white. I'll just stick it on and see how it looks, maybe it will match the yakima box Smile

Seems like they ought to give you something off the price to allow for painting. The originals were all white.
