Has anyone seen that strange 1953 delux with the elongated cab area parked at BFY Obsolete? I was there yesterday and wished I had my camera to snap some shots.
According to the guys at BFY, it was ordered from the factory like that by the original owner because he was a tall/big guy??? A very strange bird to say the least (i'd love to own it).
Anyone have any info or pics on that one??
Peace out!

Hi Edward- That one has been referred to as the "Highroof Deluxe". 10 Foot Doug the Head of the Barndoor Mafia wanted it for a long time before he got his. It would be the perfect signature Bus for him being that he is 6'7" tall. _________________ Please check us out on Instagram at @holygrailgarage

I remember this Bus or one that is very similar. It was ordered by a rather tall Swiss gentlemen who also had a 356 motor installed at the time. Is this possible? |

I seriously doubt it, the owner has had a firm grip on it since he got it long ago. I know he has been offered what was obscene money for it years ago and didn't even think about it. I wouldn't doubt that he values it as high as what the restored one here in the classifieds would be had for. _________________ Please check us out on Instagram at @holygrailgarage

Yeah, I hear you Brendan, If that 53 is truly Factory then it would be a rare specimen indeed, and would probably take alot of $$$ to pull it from the owners grip.

I'm virtually positive it was done at some form of coach builder, not a factory modification. _________________ Please check us out on Instagram at @holygrailgarage

Here's what I know about this bus. The owner moved to Japan and was storing the bus at BFY for three months. That was four years ago, and the bus is still there. If anyone is in contact with the owner, have him call BFY. _________________ Do you want fries with that? |
