|
|
I know that this thread is not completely on a "Vanagon" topic, but I hope it will inspire folks to think of PVC as a great alternative to building needed items in our Wander Wagons.
So while we were in Hood River we came across this incredible character
from AZ. He was chasing the wind and has been for the last 3 month. He
is a Kite Boarder staying in Hood River for the Summer.
I saw him laying in the back seat of his Honda Civic. When I would walk by (his door open) and glance I saw this insane working of 1/2" PVC running all through his ride.
I could not stop staring and at one point he saw me of course.
Later that afternoon he walks up to the Van and starts conversation. I
immediately asked "whats with the PVC?" Turns out he is an Ex Motorola Engineer.
Inside he showed me:
17" Plasma.
2 batteries.
inverter.
every hand held electronic gadget none to man.
Hudson garden sprayer as a shower that runs just under the Plasma and out the door.
Full length of the floor for sleeping on a 2" foam on raised plywood bed .
All kinds of storage compartments.
Are you ready?? Honda Civic mind you:

This has to be the best example of single living and traveling that I have ever seen.
Thanks for letting me share.
Now go build something out of PVC _________________ VW

Wow makes a vanagon look like the Ritz Carlton... And we thought our space was too small. _________________ 82 Westy 'Betsy'
