| My 1983 air cooled westfalia uses a quart of oil anywhere between 100 and 200 miles. I replaced the pushrod tube seals and there are no noticable leaks anywhere. It doesn't smoke, even after going down a long hill and then stepping on the gas there is no smoke from it. Any suggestions on where the oil might be going? |

Hi, compression test, like RIGHT NOW! You may have a piston going down the drain. If one cylinder is bad, have a leak down test perform, it will pinpoint the problem. Today, some mechanic have small camera, they can look inside the combustion chamber and see the problem.
Not pretty! So don't wait.
I have seen that again about 3 weeks ago, a pinhole in the piston, oil made it's way in the combustion chamber, no sign of smoke in the back.
