What you have is a 62 only hood. It still uses a four tab emblem but has a plastic insert that has the three prongs to fit the holes in the hood. Not the correct hood for your oval but good in some ways never the less. It is still flat and never had a early hood prop, so its not gonna be cracked where most early hoods are. |

Trayle,
Isnt that a 61 only hood. Flat hood thakes a four tab emblem on a 3 tab plastic backing? I always thought they were a 61 item only. |

Production year 61 model year 62. 1961 hood still had a hood prop. 1962 was still crested and had a flat 3 posted emblem. Remember 1962 still had the crest and there is no such thing as a crested hood with raised emblem. That would make the hood in question a 1962(only) hood. |
