Well here it goes, it all started about three months ago i foolishly asked my friend if i could help him fix up one of his various bugs and i was hooked. So for two months i've been helping him sand, scrub, paint and clean his 74 super and then about a month ago he told me he had found a bug for me.

Ok now for the details, according to the tabs it was last licensed in 86, we believe it was parked cause of a broken ball joint on the passenger side. Theres very little rust and the pans don't have any big holes in them from what little i can see from the underside. The engine has been replaced with a dual port and it turns over Very Happy very happy about that. over all its in good shape for sitting for about 25 years.

the only things i have done to it is replace the entire passenger side suspension in the front so we can tow it home and unfreeze the door so it could close which is why theres leaves inside. im towing it home this coming tuesday the 14th

PS does anyone know anything about the GTB the only thing i know is that it had a short production life any help would be great thanks

now for the best part

If all that crap is spider webs, I'd bug bomb that thing before I parked my ass in it. I friggin' hate spiders.

Nice lookin' bug otherwise. Have fun with it.

Cheap or not, those stripes are cool. I'd clean it up and pop that hood out and leave the body as is.

VWS microcars4jim i really like the good times bug idea

zombie you pratically read my mind shes going to be washed on the way home, then drop the engine and detail it out new paint for the tin, sandblast the head's and the intake manifold and lots of cleaning. make sure the bearings are greased and reupholster the seats. Shes going to be my DD for when i leave for flight school this coming fall, so im on a fairly tight budget, cause i need money for school, thats all for now ill post some pictures after we wash it and drop the engine. thanks again

Ok GTB means Gran Turismo Berlinetta, stands for 2 door Coupe. Companies like Ferrari Lambo Porsche / Vw and even US comp. Pontiac slapped it in a few models randomly. Adds a cool them but really doesn't improve value, some people think it means Grand Touring Beetle and its possible it has a taller 4th gear made for more high speed highway driving.
