Ok, this might be long... but here goes...

My heater box on my 75 beetle fell off a while ago (rust problem) and so my beetle was really loud for a while, I finally bought a new part and went to put it on today. So I installed the part, and started it up to hear a nice and quiet engine once again. Then... I took a look under the car to see my handywork, and to my surprize I had a little waterfall of gasoline falling from the engine apparently a fuel injection line decided to spring a leak. So I replaced that line, and started her up again, and now she idles for about 5 seconds and then dies if I give some gas, then she runs, but as soon as I take my foot off of the gas she dies, and it is not because she is idling to slow.

This has really got me stumped because beforehand it was running smoothly, and I don't think I did anything to change the way it should have run. Anyone have any ideas about what might be the problem?

Go back over all the stuff you disconnected to replace the fuel line. Maybe some loose hoses? Check especially that big one that goes from the engine to the air control box. Make sure it's snugged down tight.
