I have some Thule roofrack components from a previous car. So I just need to buy the correct towers to fit my tintop vanagon. The towers come in 5", 8" and 11" heights. I think the 5" will just barely fit but then you can't attach stuff to them. So it seems like the 8" is the correct solution. Can someone confirm this please?
Thanks.

I have the 8" and they fit perfect. If you like I can get mount measurements and overall height for the cross bars this evening.

Blue Bay Bus I have a tin top and mine are 65" wide and 8" tall. If you have a pop top I would think you could use any height you like. Just mount the artificial gutters where you need them. I have a basket in the front and a solar panel and bike rack on the rear set. With my set up the bottom of the cross bar is 3.5" to the top of the van. Very Happy

I like the 8 " ones as they just fit in our normal height garage on the tintop syncro which is 2" taller than 2wd models. Fit in a variety of parking garages as well. The crossbars also fit across the center of the roof with room for sag from load. My xbars are the 65 " ones.
