What kind of car is in this picture??

My girlfriend went out shopping and brought home this metal picture for me because she thought it was a beetle.

I woke up and said that it's pretty freaking rad but it ain't no bug.

I've been looking high and low all over google to find something like this and find out what it is, but to no avail.

I was hoping somebody here might know something about it.
