|
|
Looking for a quality trans rebuilder at a fair price... I've heard good things about "The Wright Gearbox"... there's also a gentleman out in NC that does it part time for "Monkey Nut" as his full time job is with a Nascar team.... he's logged over 1000 rebuilds to date...
Any other well regarded trans rebuilders out there besides the usual "Rancho" rebuild?
Average bus box rebuild with new 4.57 ring/pinion, welded gears, hardened key's, bushed housing and new syncros, seals and bearings is running $1000.00 dollar bill.
I know ,I know... ya get what ya pay for... I'm just curious as to who's doing the better work these days. |

He is very good at what he does, just make sure he packages it well when he ships it back. My good friends Berg 5 speed was thrown loose in a box with a piece of pvc over the shifter shaft and input shaft. It got kind of banged up on the way to him. Not what you expect after putting that much money into a trans. Hopefully it was a one time thing. _________________ "There has never been a genius without a hint of madness."

Cant go wrong with rancho!!Wright is also good too.rancho is 5 min from me and i have had 2 done there.Dons bus box is another too.IMO go with either of these and be happy
My last trans i picked up from another local guy don karraker gave me a price that no one could touch on an 091 with all weddle internals. He took some time to get it done vs rancho but again i was tight on money so no room to complain. _________________ Click to view image
