Hi there! i have this engine block and serial number and was wondering if anyone could help me figure it what car it's from! Serial #2815762. Part #'s 111 101 102A and 111 101 101A. Thanks so much!

i forgot to mention it has a bearclaw stamp and the guy at the porsche dealership here in beverly hills said that might be of note. thanks again for your time!

That was 1959, not 1939
Car? No, just an early (Probably Febr) 59 car.
Post a pic of the stamp; not sure what you mean.

right 1959 = typo - sorry. my question is if there is a way to find out if this is from a Porsche or a VW. I don't have a pic of the stamp of the bear claw and they may not be important. But here is the engine block/case.

It's a VW 36hp case.

Porsches did not use that case in 1959.
