Have a Westphalia electrical hook-up that I want to put in the Tacky Tiki Bus, but need to know how to orient it....how high off of the floor, really. If anybody has a picture of yours with the side panel on, off, whatever will help me figure out where to put the hole....bus already has enough holes in it, would like to only add one more....I have the '73 and earlier type, looks like this
any help appreciated.
Thanks,

The pictures posted look correct for the later early bays that I've seen. It's worth noting that many things like this changed through the years. My mid-69 has the inlet situated higher. Even the 1970 Westy manual shows two different configurations. These are from the same book!

Thanks everybody. Needed to know how high up it mounts....not going in a "stock" location....going in between the table and rear seat....
Thanks again....
Sean....I am about four miles from Barnegat Bay, a bit more from the ocean, 1000 ft. from a river, and a mile or so from another body of water.....so the bus rusts as I watch..... |

Ah, I see you have a station wagon bus from the factory that has been converted to the Westy setup. You have the advantage of being able to choose where the lines run now. sean14538's picture pretty much confirms that if you cut from the inside you can't miss. If you're going for a concours restoration, then I'm sure someone can measure for you. Do you need the size of the hole measured? Or can you determine that from the part you have? _________________ One-on-one tech help for your vintage Volkswagen:

I would hardly call what I am doing a "restoration".....but if someone has the hole size handy, it couldn't hurt.....
