Hey All,

So this is my second post and instead of asking a question I wanted to share with you my recent finding!!! So in preparation for our upcoming road trip I wanted to swap out my front tires on the Manx!

So I had 165/80/15 tires on my 15" x 5" and wanted a little more meat. From my understanding (pure amateur), the largest tire you can "safely" mount to a 5" wide rim is a 205/75/15. Well, as you may know, there isn't a whole lot out there in that size, but after some research (thanks Samba and many other forums) I had my heart set on the General Grabber AT2's only to discover they were discontinued!! I searched and searched but no luck.....until Tire Rack! They had 20 in stock so I bought 3, two for the front and a spare! The price was right and included free shipping! I received the tires in 4 days from Louisiana to San Diego and mounted them up yesterday!

So, I hope this helps someone in their quest for finding that special tire! Happy hunting and thank you all for help! Mo

If your gearing/engine combo is right you could go to the more popular 235/75-15. Which is what I would do in the back and keep those smaller ones up front.

I believe that everyone should do their best to stay safe, but from my experience I've used the larger 235s on stock 4 inch rims.

So far the ride has been noticeably better and I've only been on the streets in town! Thank you for the information on the tires, I'm not certain what my gearing is, but I'll have to make a note of your recommendation. I've heard of others mounting tires similar to your set-up and based on my limited experience didn't want to take any chances. I used the attached chart to aid in making my decision. Hope this helps anyone else also in the market for new rubber!
