Engine dies when accelerator is pushed

72 beetle with new redline carb started dieing Everytime I try to take off. If I ease down slowly and let the engine rev, I can take off. I pulled the air cleaner and looked down the throat of the carb while pulling the accelerator lever and there was no gas spraying down the carb from the accelerator pump. Any thoughts? It ran great the first trip after the new carb was installed.

Take it apart and clean them out.

What carb? Sounds like your accel pump circuit is clogged. If a brand new carb, I always pull the top off and clean it out before installing.
