I am getting intermittant fault code in transmission 00260 36-00 open circuit and transmission does not go into 4th gear when I get code. This solenoid was just replaced and transmission is also newly rebuilt. Suggestions ? |

Inspect the main connector at front of transmission, and condition of the harness; inspect the connection from ribbon cable to the solenoid; inspect the condition of the ribbon cable. Use a multimeter to check for continuity across this circuit between each of the connections, giving the wiring/connectors enough of a wiggle to simulate what they may see from engine vibrations. _________________

Why not just make a custom set of wires with a Y splice in them. Then you could just run one distributor. |
I don't think electrickery works that way |

I am still checking things. I do notice when engine is cold and new start all works fine. Once engine warms up and trans - that when I have the issue. maybe because the wires are more flexible? |

Once I had a solenoid fail only when warm.
Everything checked out when cold... Ran it until hot, quickly drained and removed the pan and tested with meter and sure enough... At temp the resistance was way out of range. |

Can you tell me how to check the resistance and what it should be ? Wonder if ribbon could be broke or not connected correctly to this solenoid as it was just replaced |

Can you help me w directions on checking the continuity ?
If I unplug the sensor plug outside the transmission can I check each connecting point in the plug ?. How and what should I check resistance ? Ohms and what should it be?
Then can is check internal wiring and how ? |
