Hi
I am finishing my new engine 2276 94*82 5.5 rods, 10.1:1 CR webcam 86C 1.4 rockers Steve Tims Stage II (650 springs) , weber 48 IDF with Berg venturies , A1 1 5/8 sidewinder
Anyone has any expirience with Steve Tims' stage II heads and web 86C combo? |

No real world experience but from reading here I believe the Tims stage II would be a better match with the 86b. If you want to stay with the 86c consider the CB wedgeports or better. |

It will work. Perhaps not as much mid-range with the C cam. We found the C has a big hole in the midrange over the B.
Top end will be limited by head flow.
The C is a big cam. Yes, back in the day, they put really big cams in small port/valve heads.
It was the best thing they could do with what they had. The motor will have a strong, but narrow power band. 4,000-6,500. Can your gears handle that??
Are you OK with waiting for 4,000rpm to get on power? |

I might bump up the compression to 10.5 or so, OR change the cam to an 86B. You might like it better for a strictly street driver, more usable power under around 2500 rpm.
The 86C is starting to get into race territory, high rpm power at the expense of less low end. It may feel sluggish when you are out of the power band.
To take advantage of the 86C, you might be better off with different heads. They don't need to be that much bigger, as since you say this is a street car max HP is not the priority.
I think it could work for you as is. Whether it is the best choice tho really depends on your style of driving and how much you are potentially willing or able to change plans to suite.

I expect the power band start at 3000 or 3500 rpm.for me it would be fine |

Been there done that. With 11-1 cr and premium fuel. With the smmallerports and relatively long header primaries the power comes in sooner, like around 3500. We replaced the muffler with one that has a better layout (in our opinion) That really helped the performance off cam and also helped the engine pul better peak power and a wider torque band.
