65 bus and replaced gear rod and bush and also new plate under gear stick

Got all the other gears but no first.

Any ideas??

Start with loosening the two shifter bolts and putting it in second, then tighten the bolts and see where that gets you.

Also make sure the reverse lockout plate is facing the correct way.

Check the front tranny mount.
