Is there a paper air filter element that fits the Kadron carb filter housings? If yes, what is it? |

Thanks for this. It is slightly narrower and a little shorter than the Kadron filter, but I'm going to try it.
The Kadron filter is a terrible bit of craft, IMHO, to filter dirt out of the air. I have seen a rigorous test of various filters, paper vs oil-wetted fiber in wire mesh. Paper is far superior. |

Those Napa air filters, are made to fit inside the original style Kadron filter assemblies.

Paper filters are not even close to being superior over wet filters but ok.
I built one of my Off-road filter housings to use a stock replacement paper filter the inside was full of silt after one weekend made an oiled foam pre filter lasted a few weekends then went to a cotton filter (Airaid) with the oiled foam pre filter went the whole year still clean. |

I thought that was what you were after. But fair enough.
If it is a replacement filter for the later type gauze filter I´m not quite sure what fits. That said, if you drive in normal enviroment the oiled gauze filters are fine. If you drive in dusty enviroments a set of Outerwears over the gauze filters will work a long way. If you drive in the desert under extreme conditions a set of dual layer Unifilters or similar is probably the way to go. _________________ https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=435993 |

I think I did this before..
Kadron kits were designed in the day from what was laying around to fit. Like sixties US car parts. Think corvair and pontiac gto tri power...
Some maybe less tall to help clear engine lids etc just cut down the wire meshing.
MANN filter made the orig I had, I asked the question to the factory, and no was the answer. Maybe if you want several hundred payment up front....
But any better solution post pics I'm all ears (pointy ones).
Not seen any good ones for type 4 either. |
