What's the tallest tire to fit under a rear ghia will 27inch fit ..what's the tallest tire you guys using ??

Height isn't as much of a issue, need to watch width and wheel offset
A tall skinny tire on stock width&offset wheel or one wider to the inside

I was looking at those autobahn 640 tires they seem to be 27.3 height.. stock or porsche 356 4.5 x15 wheels ....something different but wasn't to sure if they would fit .... link below of the tires

If you use a 356 wheel, you want the 4.5 wide with more backspace not the wider track version

VWs never came with a 6.40x15 tire, so don't believe them. In the 60s, the tire size was 5.60x15. Then in about 72, VW went up to 6.00x15.

Yes im looking at a type 2.. 6.40 x15 rear tire just to give a meaner/ beefier look in the rear but yet keep it a vintage look ..
