I had several made from those drawings.
I'm 175cm. They're for small humans, before 1950's steroids and over eating....

A photo would help, but if those two removable pins are located about a foot or so below the 313 head of the tool, they are for attaching two optional long metal arms and at the end of each arm a Y-shaped metal yoke which would support the mounting of a transaxle bellhousing to the 313 yolk and the two "Y" shaped yolks at the ends of the arms would then support the ends of the axles. A manual photo of the add-on accessory #643 transaxle support arms and yokes:
The long arms and yokes are a fairly rare option which I happen to have on my 313 engine stand. Adding that optional arm and yolk set allows your engine stand to service both engines and transaxles. A very cool optional tool... Mine for your perusal...

There's VW310 and VW310a. They're different. 310a incorporates the 40hp platform.

Good evening,
A long awaited addition to my shed, something I haven't chased but have been eyeing off, as I have a crankshaft to assemble this coming week.
As found condition

Happy 2025 toolaholics.
Forgot to update some new additions late last year. Pretty much rounding out the bench mounted tooling I need for the time being
As purchased, came out of a long time Vw business that closed a few years ago.
The value compressor tool was one I was looking forward to as I've not owned one previously.
How it's currently sitting
I've finally sourced the chemicals to re finish the steel components in the "blued" finish, but yet to have the chance to try them.
I also have to make a replac pin to correct this interesting repair
I won't bother you with too many photos of the the 313 mount and crank holding tool.
The later being the revision to do 40hp onwards and the 313 being the other casting style. I'm sure someone knows more about era details for that change
I have to make up some pieces for instance the tension handle for the 313 and then go through the small pile of tooling once I have this blueing process nailed. _________________ Collector of all things Volkswagen, Hazet and Matra.
