Head cracking has more to do the with how well you can build the combo and tune the engine than anything else. A poor running out of tune engine that generates high combustion temperatures will cause the heads to crack, the engine can only run as good as it's tune, and combo..........
The heads will at some point crack between the seats, it's a common issue and not a problem that typically causes any type of failure, cracking to the spark plug however reverts back to high combustion temps. To help with this issue however many head builders will weld up the spark plug hole and relocate it further away from the intake seat, some will re-tap the plug hole to use a much smaller 12mm or in some cases a 10mm spark plug. This leaves a substantial amount of meaty material between the intake seat and plug.
As far as the head is concerned it does not care if the compression ratio is 6.0:1 or 14.0:1 |

4 or 5 posts down is glenns motor with tims stage 2 heads and a engle k8 cam w/ IDAs and dual quiet packs im pretty sure. _________________ Brian

Well, I am going mild since it is going in a bus and tons of sustained freeway driving.
8.3:1 CR . . . 63cc heads with a .060 copper gasket. _________________ Gerg
