Anyone have any experience with Mitsubishi Eclipse seats. Went looking and found a set, but I didn't have a measuring tape with me. How wide are they? Thanks. |

Hi - I also have cut down 914 seats but in black vinyl. Do you have a picture of yours to post?
EDIT - I was asking as my buggy is red and I was curious what the seats would look like red. What type of material did you have them done in? |

For a few years i had a set of 96 jetta seats in mine. they sat too tall for me aka head over the windshield. they also didnt fit width wise. they can be squeezed in better if you cut the frames down more i suppose |

We have a pair in our Bugetta and a pair pair in our Maxi Taxi they do the job, We have Beard in a couple of our other Buggies and the material has rotted away after a couple of years, they are always garaged and have talked to several other Buggy owners about thier seats doing the same thing. Went to pick and pull yesterday and pulled a pair of seats from a GrandAm still have not mocked them up in a pan but looks like they will fit nicely. Test fitted them this weekend into the new Manx project they fit great.

To anyone that has put in Fiero seats (or any other flat floor mounting seats on original bug pans)
Did you just build something up in the rear where the Pan dips down, or did you have it just mount to the dip & have the seat sloped back a bit?
(pics would be great if you've got any...)
I'm about to mount my seats & I'm not sure which way I want to go. I threw them in last night just to sit in them, & I don't mind them being on the floor in the front, but, they did slope back a bit when I had the back mounts in the dip, felt weird, but, I guess I could get use to it... Or build a 1 x 1 support to have them up in the back (to be level with the front).

Did any of that make sense? _________________ ~X-Man~

You can raise the rear of the seat off of the pan by fabbing some type of support. I know that some of used 2" or 3" box tubing that bolts through the pan. I also have Fiero seats, but they are pretty tight against the tunnel, and don't really work well. Are you experiencing that issue? It could be that the sides of my body are tighter into the interior of the car than some. _________________ Jay
