Thanks to everyone for the nice comments ! Wink

@dmuis : The Canadian script is missing but for sure it used to have one, we can still clearly see it. But maybe it's have been added later in the 50's by a VW dealer...
@DanM & Everett : I asked once or twice to Bill what happened but he just answered me "Oooh it was a terrible accident you know, i have been at the hospital 9 months and doctors said i will never walk again !!"... so I don't really know, but i will try to ask again next time i talk to him.

This car is continuing it's journey, by the looks of the effort you've gone to it looks like it's in great hands...

I think it says an awefull lot for the scene today that after nearly 30 posts and over 1300 views no one has said 'look at the state of that thing' 'you must be crazy' bla bla bla etc etc. Wink
How things have changed in the last year or so. Cool

What I am still in shock looking at theses pics is that the guy actually lived after this kind of destruction !!! Shocked Shocked

I mean , WOW .... He himself literally took the hit !!! Shocked

I mean really .... How amazing , especially for back then that he lived to tell the story ... And never got rid of the bus ..... Wink

Truly a special man and Bus there Cool Cool Cool

Good luck with the resto and thanks again for sharing !!! Very Happy

...To think that I used to play in that thing like it was a fort when I was 10. Very happy to see it finally getting the attention it deserves!

I'll ask Bill's grandson what happened in the crash, I'm sure he's heard the story a million times.
