That 30 wire appears to have been soldered, liquid tape applied. AFAIK, cutting that wire is not needed for the relay conversion hence my curiosity on a possible short out event. Or....
the PO mistakenly cut the 30 wire, soldered it with a solder gun or butane flame (or blow torch, just kidding), and heat from that tool damaged wires near it.
All things being equal, yes, it should work but I'd still be curious to at least inspect wires in junction box, alternator, power steering switch.
Hopefully you've found the issue causing fuel pump to run when engine is not running.

To be honest, I’m not sure it was running all the time.
I just finished doing all 6 fuel lines with 7mm FI hose and correct clamps. Turned the switch on and it looks like the fuel lines got pressure in them.
I ordered all new rubber seal for the throttle body and when that comes in I will put it all together and test. |

Ah, ok.
Even if the fuel hoses at injectors were replaced not many miles-years ago it might be wise to replace those hoses. Apply penetrating fluid to each small bolt at each injector hold down bracket.
I meant to suggest adding a layer of tape on those repaired wires but then the chances of a stray bit of soldered wire poking through the shrink wrap and some how magically contacting a ground in there is quite low.
The "T" in the fuel hose above engine is for testing fuel pressure and residual pressure.

Yes, I’m familiar with the fuel pressure test. It should not be an issue though as I did drive the van 300 miles after I bought it and brought it home.
2 issue I need to fix in the engine is idle surge and low coolant temp at the temp gage.
The van will surge to 3500rpm at idle and is hard to start when cold. You need to keep your foot on the accelerator pedal to warm it up. Once it is warm, it starts surging.
The second issue, I believe is either a bad temp sensor or a bad temp gauge. The led warning light works as you start the van and never goes on. The temp gauge moves just a little bit.
But I had to fix all the fuel lines and vacuum leaks first. |

I also have the go westy throttle position switch. I cleaned it, tested and made sure it is adjusted correctly. The plastic piece seems to be 3D printed.
Anyways, should I cover it with something or leave it exposed? |

I'm not familiar with the gowesty throttle switch so can't help with that. The stock throttle switch adjusting parts can corrode over time though.
I don't know if the incorrect temp sensor plug can be connected to the temp sensor for the fuel injection system but check to see if I see a brown-white and gray wire go to the temp sensor at left side (driver side) of the thermostat housing.

Well crap. The 3D printed part of the throttle position switch from Go westy just broke.
Make a duplicate from laser cut acrylic.

Right on!
That failed cam might explain the surging eh?

It was ok until i messed with it. It's possible it fell apart from the throttle body cleaner but i did notice it was not setting the switch when in the fully open position. Should work ok now, at least the switch.
I still need to put the whole intake back together then I'll be able to start the car and see what's going on. |
