The funny thing is when I hit on the search for that split, 'How to restore a vintage Bug' manual popped up under it. If you want to make it original...GL! I am learning 'original' on my '63. $$$$$$$$$ |

ah, not a problem for any of it for me. i have a 52 split in the garage. with teh two, easy. the one i have is junk shell. as in...rust up to the door handles. now this...will make it easy. i have all hte parts minus the body, so this, gonna be a cake job for me. finally, its what ive been wating for. i have all chrome up to the factory radio. i researched the car, and found out what the factory options are, and its as good as done. basically all i need to do is put the 10 MM bolt in the hole. |

Looks like you fool us all.
I think picking some of the "chummy" awards will be difficult with some many deserving nominees this year.

Geeeeez, I thought I'd be a nice guy and let everyone know about it. I would love to have it, but like others have said, too expensive to restore for me. I am already working on a '55, '57, '58, '61, '63, and a '64. Not to mention the 2 supers for the kids someday!! I'll just enjoy seeing the splits at the shows. |

"i researched the car, and found out what the factory option"
how did you do that so quickly? you must have some serious conections at he VW musem 'cause it took me about six weeks to get that info on my car. Or maybe you are just FOS.
How about a photo of the rust bucket in the garage? or a shot of some rechromed bumpers?
Yeah, that's what I thought....... |
