Who would've thought so many guys doing this stuff! Here's another source for parts, especially hard to find CARB PARTS:<https://www.piercemanifolds.com/40_44_IDF_insulating_spacer_99005_115_p/99005.115.htm>
pierce always has what I need, even impossible stuff

At the 00:23 mark it says the parts are approved by Jack Sacchette. Jbugs has mentioned, "engines are built and assembled by VW racing legend Jack Sacchette". Two totally different meanings in my opinion.

It’s hard to believe one guy is building all the engines they plan on selling. Imagine the backlog, so the “approved” part is more like it.

Either that or EMPI has this Jack guy chained to a bench working 24/7 to meet demand,

I remember when the mexican long blocks were available and I thought too expensive back in the day but I think they were like $1600 bucks?!

So many local engine builders and machine shops are closing these days - to be able to just order a brand new longblock one without a long lead time is a great option!

I still have my Mexico 1600DP, with Brazil heads, that I bought in '89 for $795, it was a completely brand new longblock, from Buggy House in Hayward California.

Refreshed in 2011, and still going strong in 2023, at maybe 35K miles:

I was thinking about purchasing this longblock to get a little more power and speed. Specifically the 1914cc, it would be my daily. Think its a good idea? Or should I maybe try and go for a more reviewed and reputable longblock.
(I was going to put it in my bug, I know this isn't the bug forum, but was hoping to get some answers. My dad owns a '60, 23 window! I'm half a splitty haha)
Thanks.

I have run the 1776 motor for just over a year. Perfect for my needs. Its a show car and cruiser, not a daily driver. Motor has just over 1,000 miles. I noticed a very small oil drip around the jug for # 3 cylinder, especially if the front end of the car is up in the air. Anyone have any experience with this / possible causes?? Any info is much appreciated.

Any possibility that it's coming from further above, like from the oil cooler, and just migrating down?
