I can't see enough of the car in that scene to determine if its a 411 or 412, though with the lack of the bulges on the front of the hood for the headlights it could be a 412. |
looks like the chunky high level indicator of a 412 to me... _________________ "we're here on Earth to fart around" kurt vonnegut

I've seen ^^^THAT^^^ movie way back when I was a kid. Didn't quite understand WTF was going on but I can assure you, it didn't end well for anyone in it! _________________ Some people are so busy being clever they don't have time enough to be wise. |

Except for Jenny Agutter when she came back to movies a few years later in "Logan's Run". |

Composite photo of a '66 Karmann Ghia Cabrio (flat hubcaps, chrome trim on dash), German 1960's TV show "Strassenfeger: Die 5. Kolonne" ep. 20. Translated "street sweeper- the 5th convoy". The series was based on actual cases of German espionage. "KI" license plate is the city of Kiel in northern Germany.
Silver-blue lowlight Ghia Cabrio at a crowded city crosswalk, YouTube video "Frankfurt am Main 1954, 1959".
"Strassenfeger..." episode 12, with a Ghia Coupe parked in background and a Notchback in foreground.

Lowlight Karmann Ghia Coupes, YouTube video Put-in-Bay road races 1957. Put-in-Bay is a small island in Ohio at the southern end of Lake Erie, due east of Toledo. Road races were set up on some of the public roads for a few years in the late 1950's. Low-resolution video was likely based on an 8 mm film camera. This appears to be a parade lap of a specific vehicle class.
The gold Ghia Coupe seen above during the race, at a sharp corner where many of the other racers oversteered and hit the hay bales at right.
And one driving past in the background- |

Just seen this morning on BBC News- "The travel show". Host Rob Bell joins a British Bay Window enthusiast to attempt driving a well-worn '72 Bay to Wolfsburg, Germany.

TV show "Charlie's Angels" episode "Angel on a Roll", season 5 episode 14. Main guest character drives a red late Karmann Cabrio (Mars Red?). Angel Kris Munroe and John Bosley (Cheryl Ladd, David Doyle) watch him from across the street.
And in "Stuntwoman Angels" S5E12 1981. Likely is the same Cabrio from the above episode. |

Movie "The Seven-Ups" (1973) filmed in New York City.
TV show "The bionic woman" episode "The Bionic Dog" S3E1 (1977).
TV show "Starsky and Hutch" from 1976 with Starsky's red Torino driving past on left. White Squareback in left background.
Junkyard scene near the end of the movie "Charley Varrick" (1973)- a '63 thru '66 Beetle Karmann Cabriolet per the rear window size and apron style. If the small horizontal "slot" in the apron is from the ripped off engine lid bolt-on latch, then it's a '65 or '66.
